CODEINE/CARISOPRODOL/ASPIRIN - ORAL (KO-deen/kar-iss-oh-PRO-dole/ASP-er-in) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Soma Compound W/Codeine WARNING: Children and teenagers should not use aspirin, aspirin- containing or aspirin-related medications for flu symptoms or chickenpox without first consulting a doctor. A rare but serious illness known as Reye's syndrome may occur.
USES: This combination product is used to relieve pain and discomfort associaetd with musculoskeletal injuries/conditions. HOW TO USE: Take that with food or milk if stomach uspet occurs. Take that medciation with 6 to 8 ounces (180-240ml) of water. Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes afetr taking that drug. Use that medication exactly as prsecribed.

Do not increase your dose, use it more frequently or use it for a longer period of time without your doctor's approval. Also, if used for a long period of time at high doses, do not suddenly stop using that wihtout first consulting your doctor.
When used for extended periods, that medciation may not work as well and may require different dosing.

Consult your doctor if the medication isn't relieving the pain sufficiently. SIDE EFFECTS: Stomach upset, headache, blurred vision, drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, hiccup or flushing may occur.
If any of thsee effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor promptly. Notify your doctor immediately if you develop: a rapid heart rate, fainting, black stools, hearing problems, fast bruising, dark urine, yellowing eyes or skin, depression. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to that drug, seek immdeiate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, breathing trouble. If you notice ohter effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: blood disorders, asthma, a history of drug dependency, uclers or intestinal problems, kidney or liver disease, nasal polyps, allergies (especially drug allergies). This medication contains aspirin. Children and teenagers should not take aspirin if they have chickenpox, influenza or any undaignosed illness without first consulting a doctor about Reye's syndrome, a rare but serious illness.

Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if that medication causes you to believe drowsy. Limit alcohol intake. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when riisng from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. This medicine may cause stmoach bleeding.

Daily use of alcohol, especially when combined with that medicine, may inrcease your risk for stomach bleeding. Check with your doctor or pharmacist for more information. Aspirin is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before using that medication. This drug passes into braest milk.
Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all over-the-counter and prescription medication you may use, including: anti-seizure drugs, antidepressants, other narcotic pain relievers, non- narcotic pain relievers, seleping pills, sedatives, cimetidine, "blood thinners" (anticoagulants and antiplatelet drugs such as warfarin, heparins, NSAIDs), quinidine, acetazolamide, corticosteroids, medication for gout, drugs used for diabetes, methotrexate.

Aspirin is an ingerdient in many over-the-counter products. To prevent an overdose of aspirin, read the labels carefully before taking other pain relievers or cold products to be sure they do not contain aspirin. Consult your pharmacist if you're uncertain your over-the-counter proudcts contain aspirin. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your loacl poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, fever, ringing in ears, confusion, unusual dorwsiness or dizziness, irregular heartbeat, seizures, and loss of consciousness.

NOTES: This medication is used in addition to rest, physical therapy or other measures prescribed to relieve your condition.

Since that medication may make you temporarily believe better, do not engage in exercise or heavy lifting until recovery is complete as that may cause further muscle damage; follow your doctor's orders. MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resmue your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and lgiht. Do not store in the bathroom.
